I fell in love with the colors of both the Wee Wander solids and prints. They are just beautiful; they kind of remind me of sherbets! Add that thought to those donut shaped blocks, and yummy – now I am thinking of dessert!!
I was inspired by the pattern on the cover of Kate Henderson’s book Strip Savvy. It looked like it would be fun to make and it was. It did take a lot of Thangles – glad I had a bunch on hand. 🙂
I can’t wait to have it quilted!
Beautiful quilt, love the colors, and my goodness, Kevin looks all grown up!
Kevin looks more puppy-ish when his hair has been brushed 🙂
The colors of the quilt are even better in person. I’ll get another picture once it has been quilted.
Love putting the text fabric with brights! So cute and fun! I love how our dogs just have to lay on them! What a cutie!
Hi Kelly, thanks 🙂 My dogs are always laying on my projects – either that or swiping them from the table and running around with them. Hee-hee!!
gorgeous quilt, love the colours against the low volume. Visiting from NTT
Hi Celine, thank you 🙂 The colors of the Wee Wander line are just so pretty! I wish I had bought more than just the fat quarters! Thanks for visiting.
Very cute! I love the background fabric against the bright colors.
Hi Diana, thanks 🙂 The text fabrics are really fun to work with. The colors of the Wee Wander line are what really make the quilt pretty. There is something about those colors that set my soul on fire. Of course, Kevin has to try it out too!
The fabric combination in this quilt is wonderful. Totally delicious!
Thanks Karen 🙂 The colors somehow remind me of sweet treats! Don’t know why but they do. Tee-hee. Maybe I’m just hungry!!!
Great quilt. Thinking this may be a good idea for my 30’s prints 🙂
Hi Christine! That is a cool idea. I just uncovered my 30’s stash (buried deep inside my fabric closet before I cleaned it out) and I can totally picture something like that. I think the background would look really pretty as a cream color or maybe a light blue. Hmmmm… I think I see another quilt coming! 🙂
The text print background looks amazing against the bright colors! great pattern too!
Thanks for linking to Needle and Thread Thursday!

Hi Kelly, thank you 🙂 I got such a kick out of seeing my quilt highlighted on your site 🙂 It totally made my day!!!! Many smiles to you.
Love all the text prints!!
Hi Mary, thanks for stopping by. 🙂 I think using multiple text prints is what made it work. The different prints make it all so much more interesting to look at. Plus those colors of the Wee Wander are just so pretty! Have a wonderful day.
I love all those text backgrounds! Great idea. As for the sherbet and donuts… well, I have some caramel frozen yogurt waiting for me!
That sounds really yummy! Since it is the morning, your caramel frozen yogurt just made me think of butterscotch coffee. We used to live in Laguna Beach (So Cal) and there was this little coffee and bagel shop that sold the best butterscotch coffee ever. Oh would I ever love a cup of that right now!! Hee-hee!
LOVE the background prints! They really make those colors pop! This is a gorgeous quilt! I’m gonna copy you….someday 🙂
Hi Stephanie! Thanks 🙂 I had fun making this quilt because of the colors, plus the background fabrics are fun to read 🙂
